COVID

The Northeast San Fernando Valley was one of the hardest hit areas from the pandemic due to the large number of essential workers and many people living in crowded, multigenerational homes. From the beginning, Councilwoman Rodriguez provided hard to find personal protective equipment (PPE) and sanitizers to help community members protect themselves from the virus. The COVID Care Kits also contained instructions on how to isolate and disinfect the home to prevent it spreading throughout the family.

After partnering with the LAFD to distribute to homes with a positive COVID patient in Council District 7, Mayor Garcetti announced the program would be implemented city-wide to protect Angelenos.
