¡EL GRITO!

A FREE Arts & Music festival on the steps of City Hall and kickoff to Los Angeles’ Latino Heritage Month!

El Grito is Los Angeles’ free public festival highlighting our vibrant Latino community as well as showcasing the immense contributions Latinos have made to the City’s culture, history, and economy. Featuring internationally renowned Latino artists and entertainers, tasty food trucks, a reggaeton silent disco, and a one-of-a-kind crafts fair of over 60 vendors – El Grito is a high-energy all-ages celebration of Latinidad in LA.

At 9PM catch a re-enactment of “El Grito,” the historical Cry of Dolores and ringing of the bell at City Hall! Performed by the City of Los Angeles and the Consul General of Mexico, this commemorative act highlights the original call to arms pronounced by Miguel Hidalgo in 1810 that launched the Mexican War for Independence.
